(Tormentil). The whole or cut, dried rhizome, freed from the roots, of Potentilla erecta (P. tormentilla). It contains not less than 7% of tannins expressed as pyrogallol, calculated with reference to the dried drug. Protect from light.

💊 Profile

Tormentil has astringent properties and is used in herbal preparations for diarrhoea and other indications. Gastrointestinal irritation and vomiting have occasionally occurred.
