Thiram, the methyl analogue of disulfiram, has antibacterial and antifungal activity. It has been applied topically as an aerosol in the treatment of wounds and other skin disorders. It has been used as a fungicide in agriculture, and in industry as a rubber accelerator. Occupational exposure to thiram may cause irritation of mucous membranes and skin.
