Shepherd’s purse, the aerial parts of Capsella bursa-pastoris (Thlaspi bursa-pastoris) (Cruciferae) has antihaemorrhagic and astringent properties. It is used to prevent or arrest bleeding, and has been specifically used for menorrhagia. It is also used for urinary-tract disorders and diarrhoea.
