(Lemon Verdana Leaf). The whole or fragmented, dried leaves of Aloysia citriodora (A. triphylla, Verbena triphylla, Lippia citriodora). It contains a minimum of 2.5% acteoside (C 29 H 36 O 15 = 624.6) expressed as ferulic acid and not less than 0.3% v/w essential oil for the whole drug and 0.2% v/w essential oil for the fragmented drug, all calculated with reference to the dried drug. After grinding it has a characteristic odour reminiscent of lemon.
