Citral is a terpenoid constituent of lemon oil, lemon grass oil, melissa oil, and many other essential oils; it exists as 2 isomers, trans-citral (geranial) and cis-citral (neral). It has been used in preparations for respiratory-tract, musculoskeletal, and other disorders. It is also used as a flavour and perfume.
