Trospectomycin is a water-soluble derivative of spectinomycin but is more active against Gram-positive organisms, Haemophilus influenzae, and Chlamydia trachomatis as well as Neisseria. It has been investigated in various infections and given as the sulfate intravenously or intramuscularly. Reported adverse effects include perioral paraesthesia, pain at the injection site, nausea, and dizziness.
