Profile

Garenoxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibacterial with properties similar to those of ciprofloxacin. Garenoxacin is used as the mesilate but doses are given in terms of the base: about 507 mg of the mesilate is equivalent to 400 mg of garenoxacin. It is given orally in the treatment of susceptible infections in usual doses equivalent to 400 mg of garenoxacin daily.
