Profile

Carfecillin is the phenyl ester of carbenicillin to which it is hydrolysed after absorption from the gastrointestinal tract. Its use has been restricted to the treatment of urinary-tract infections due to Pseudomonas spp. and other sensitive bacteria including Proteus spp.
