(Apramycin Sulphate). The sulfate of an antibiotic produced by certain strains of Streptomyces tenebrarius or by other means. The potency is not less than 430 units per mg, calculated with reference to the anhydrous substance. A light brown hygroscopic powder or granular material. Freely soluble in water; practically insoluble in alcohol, in acetone, in ether, and in methyl alcohol.
